When the Hall of Fame came out to play in 2013, we gave it a new (trade) dress.
2013 was a big year for the St. Louis Tennis Hall.
It moved to Frontenac Racquet Club from its old home in Forest Park, where it had only been accessible in the summer.
And after a hiatus of some years, it inducted four new members during the May Frontenac Pro Doubles Classic.
The discovery.
But as we were putting together the promotional materials for the Classic, it became clear that the Hall’s existing graphic materials no longer existed. In fact, they probably never made it to electronic form. The choice: trace an old photocopy someone had found, or design a more contemporary version.
The leadership of the Hall opted to see some new designs.
The winner was this round version of the Arch as tennis racquet, very like the previous concept but more formal, befitting a Hall of Fame, and updated with current typography.
We also launched the Hall’s first site, on WordPress and Genesis.
2016: New inductees and a major upgrade.
April 2016 will see four new inductees: Terry Ward, Craig Sandvig, Ron Cobb and Patty Purcell. Look for news and pics on the site!
As well, the Hall’s HQ will move again – to String n Swing Tennis, a shop in Old Frontenac Square.
