A new regime gives a sleepy tennis program a chance to wake up – online and off.
The first year or so we spent in the Antelope Valley, where we′re on a temporary assignment with husband Dick′s fighter planes, you could shoot a cannon through the Antelope Valley Country Club’s tennis courts after about 10 am most days.
It wasn′t until the head pro, Kirk Shoemaker, assumed the helm that the courts began to show signs of life. With the lid off whatever had been keeping the courts empty, we were free to grow.
In the 21st century, that starts with a site.
As Kirk learns to use WordPress as a teaching and blogging tool, we′re adding features with Formidable Forms and Foo Galleries. And taking lots of pictures.
Immediate priorities: an email list and getting more members to use the tools we’ve built to organize their games.
